My skin really suffers in the winter. It gets dry, flaky and pale — not a great look for sure!
I have been making my own body lotion at home for some time now, but I had never tried making scrubs before, as I generally avoid using anything abrasive on my fairly sensitive skin.
This organic sugar coffee scrub is a new recipe that I was curious to experiment with ever since I saw it in a coffee shop in Vermont last fall.
The nice lady who made it assured me that the coffee grinds combined with the sugar crystals and coconut oil has a very refreshing and hydrating effect on dry skin like mine.
This delicious smelling homemade recipe takes very little time and effort to put together, yet it does incredible things for your skin! It literally wakes up the epithelial cells and gives you a beautiful and youthful glow ♥
I am in love with this scrub and even though my skin is generally flaky and sensitive, it really enjoys this gentle sugary exfoliation. I actually started using to scrub my whole body in the shower each morning. Amazing!
If you have time, you can leave this scrub on your skin for a few minutes before washing it off. I find this to be even more effective in hydrating your skin and making it feel softer.
You can use freshly ground, dry organic coffee or the brewed coffee grinds left from your morning cup o’Joe. I prefer the dry coffee as I find it to be a better exfoliator, but both work equally well at infusing your skin cells with caffeine and antioxidants, literally waking them up and giving you a beautiful glowing face.
All you need to add on your way out the door is your gorgeous smile!
You will love this. I promise you ♥ Give it a try.
