I don’t know about you, but I’m super thrilled for the warmer weather and sunshine! We are way overdue on the East Coast.
I can’t wait to finally put my winter clothes away, slip on a pair of flip flops and take a drive to the beach 🙂
I’m so excited for sun and summer that I can’t help but share one of my sunshine-inspired smoothie recipes with y’all: a delicious concoction filled with sweet tropical flavors and of course, health-sustaining nutrients your body will love you for ♥
I know you’ll enjoy this beauty! Sipping on it totally makes you feel like you are lounging on a beach with the sun on your face. I am a big fan of tropical fruits although, I know many people avoid them due to their high sugar content. Trust me, you have nothing to worry about.
Besides natural sugars (fructose), these juicy gifts of nature are packed with gut healthy fiber, vitamins, minerals and a ton of antioxidants. Your body metabolizes fruit sugar much slower than refined sugar, drawing a steady energy supply from them throughout the day. As long as you consume these sweet fruits in moderation (meaning, that’s not all you eat all day every day), your gorgeous bod will rejoice in taking in some of their nutritional goodness.
Both papaya and mango are amazing sources of potassium, magnesium, vitamin C and folate. They also supply you with a good amount of dietary fiber and antioxidant nutrients like flavonoids and carotenes, which give these fruits their gorgeous sunlit color.
I always add a slice or two of avocado to my smoothies as it gives them a creamy consistency, adds some heart-healthy monounsaturated fats to the mix, and helps with the absorption of fat soluble vitamins like E and A (carotenes).

- ½ ripe papaya
- 1 ripe mango
- ½ avocado
- 1 ripe banana
- 1 Tbsp chia seeds
- 1 Tbsp hemp seeds (optional)*
- 1 scoop RAW plant-based protein powder (optional)
- Almond milk or any other nut milk of choice
- Blend all ingredients until smooth
- Sip slowly and smile 🙂
