If you are not a meat eater, many will say you are at risk of becoming protein deficient. No one ever considers green vegetables, legumes or nuts and seeds to be good sources of protein. Well, I do!
I personally love to eat nuts and seeds, and try to do so on a daily basis. The recipe I share with you today is a perfect example of how creative you can get using simple, all natural ingredients to make a delicious, nutritious (protein and all) snack in just minutes.
The raw matcha green tea power bites is a new recipe I tried for the first time this weekend. As you know, I really enjoy making healthy snacks and desserts, as I am always looking for ways to bring more sweetness to my life…You know I love my yummy treats ♥
I have been obsessed with matcha green tea ever since I discovered it last year and I always look for ways to incorporate this superfood into my diet. Recently, I started adding a teaspoon to my smoothies each morning, and now to my desserts. It packs in a very nice, earthy flavor.
Matcha tea powder is made from dried green tea leaves and it originally comes from Japan. It is rich in chlorophyll and contains potent antioxidants, vitamins and minerals that give you a healthy energy boost without the jittery feeling you typically get from caffeinated drinks.
The raw cashew nuts, hemp, flax and chia seeds in this recipe supply your body with dietary fiber, omega 3’s, phosphorus and manganese, as well as with high-quality protein your body can easily digest.
These raw energy bites are a tasty little treat you will feel good about eating. You can have them in the morning for breakfast, before or after a workout, or as a nutritious dessert after a meal.
